The new program reflects Qualcomm Technologies’ commitment to customers who require longer product lifecycles.
The long-term product plan covers more than a dozen iot dedicated chips, showcasing a broad range of chips with longer life cycles and facilitating the use of iot applications in enterprise and industrial use cases.
On July 28, Qualcomm Technologies announced a new long-term product program for its select catalog of industry-leading Internet of Things solutions. The program, which launched on July 27, will initially cover 16 different Qualcomm Technologies iot system-on-chip (SoC) offerings, supporting customer product designs with longer, more sustained lifecycles.
The SOCs included in the long-term product plan are designed to address the lifecycle needs of many different industrial and enterprise use cases, including asset equipment tracking and inspection, construction security, drones, and warehouse management. The product life cycle of each solution in the catalog ranges from 7 to 10 to 15 years. With the introduction of new Qualcomm ® chips and the end of the previous chip life cycle, this catalog will continue to be updated.
The Long-Term Product Program is designed to support manufacturing and enterprise customers who want to extend the life cycle of their products with durable, reliable SOCs. This program demonstrates Qualcomm Technologies’ commitment to supporting and meeting customer needs, ensuring that customers in resource-intensive industries have access to solutions with life-cycles of a decade or more.
Dev Singh, vice president of Business Development and Head of the Building, Enterprise and Industrial Automation business at Qualcomm Technologies, said: “As customer needs continue to evolve, reliable products with long life cycles are becoming increasingly important. The long-term product plan ensures the reliability and functionality of Qualcomm Technologies’ products over a longer period of time.”
