Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in 2019, China’s petrochemical and chemical industry achieved main business income of 11.17 trillion yuan, accounting for 10.56% of the main business income of industrial enterprises above designated size in the country; The total profit of the petrochemical and chemical industries was 505.4 billion yuan, accounting for 8.2% of the profits of industrial enterprises above designated size in the country.
Chemical industry is one of the basic industries of national economy. The chemical industry involves many fields such as petrochemicals, medicine, environmental protection, metallurgy and energy, and plays an important role in realizing the modernization of industry, agriculture, national defense and science and technology, and plays a decisive role in the industrial chain of the national economy.
In recent years, under the tightening of production capacity and environmental protection policies, the development speed of China’s chemical industry has slowed down, but in general, it is still in a period of growth and development, and the development of the industry is tending to be standardized and intelligent.
On December 17, 2020, the “2021 China Energy and Chemical Industry Development Report” compiled by Sinopec Economic and Technological Research Institute was released in Beijing. The report shows that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s refining and chemical industry will enter a period of full release of new capacity, industry integration transformation and upgrading, and the high-end and green development of chemical products will become a new trend.
The standardization, intelligence and green development of the chemical industry cannot be separated from the support of many sensing technologies, one of the most critical technologies is the sensor. The sensor is a detection device that can feel the measured information, and can transform the felt information into an electrical signal or other required form of information output according to a certain law to meet the requirements of information transmission, processing, storage, display, recording and control.
As the most important data acquisition entry point, sensors enable automated smart devices to feel. The application of sensors in the chemical field includes oil mining, industrial automation, oil well exploration, industrial and mining industries, industrial Internet, etc. The sensors used include pressure sensors, gas sensors, electromagnetic flow sensors, temperature sensors, optical fiber sensors, vibration sensors, MEMS sensors, etc.
From 2014 to 2018, the scale of sensor application demand in China’s chemical industry continues to expand, showing a rapid growth momentum. According to the prospective Industry Research Institute data show that in 2018, the market size of China’s chemical sensor industry was 18.3 billion yuan, an increase of 13.23% over the previous year. According to the proportion of chemical sensors in the entire sensor industry, it is expected to exceed 25 billion yuan in 2021.
At present, sensors are playing an increasingly important role in the chemical industry, while China’s sensor industry as a high-tech industry has also been strongly supported by national policies, rapid development. First, the scale of the industry has grown rapidly; Second, innovation capacity has been significantly enhanced; Third, the ecological system has been basically improved. It can be predicted that with the strong support of national policies, China’s sensor companies are expected to grab more share in the huge market of chemical sensors.
