Economic growth point in the post-epidemic era: Intelligent transformation of Chinese enterprises
China’s gross domestic product (GDP) exceeded the 100 trillion yuan mark for the first time in 2020, up 2.3 percent from the previous year at comparable prices, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics. The World Bank further forecast that China’s GDP growth is expected to reach 7.9% in 2021, as consumer and business confidence increases and labor market conditions improve, and economic activity expands to private investment and consumption.
Looking at the world, due to the uncertainty of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the economic recovery is full of uncertainties, and the digital intelligent transformation of Chinese enterprises not only brings more intimate and convenient life experience, but also releases huge efficiency dividends in economic development. Many authorities and experts expect that the new technologies triggered by the epidemic will not be a “flash in the pan”, but will continue to be embedded in our lives and accelerate digital transformation.
Zhang Hongjiang, chairman of Beijing Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, believes that in the post-epidemic era, science and technology will continue to play a more far-reaching impact, and habits such as telecommuting and online education will be retained after the epidemic. Relying on artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other technologies to build innovative operation models, promote cost reduction and efficiency, and business growth will become a key issue for future industries to consider in the post-epidemic era.
Respondents from all companies are convinced of this. Gu Yuejun told reporters that according to the plan, the 5G future factory construction of Youngor’s Ningbo headquarters and Jilin Hunchun’s two major manufacturing bases is expected to be completed within the year. After the Yunnan Ruili factory is put into operation next year, Youngor will use 5G to open a new model of intelligent manufacturing. Taking Youngor’s Factory of the future as an example, after eliminating a lot of hardware investment, the network construction cost of the factory of the future is reduced by 50%.
“China’s huge market makes the automotive industry have a broad space, and under the conditions of new energy, intelligence, 5G communication, artificial intelligence, the industry has undergone restructuring and reconstruction, so that we can have the opportunity to catch up with and exceed the world’s advanced level.” Ding Lei, founder of Chinese Express Gaohe Automobile, said.
In Sun Zhongwei’s view, China’s manufacturing industry to achieve “unmanned transformation”, will have a greater strategic initiative in the global industrial competition. “By promoting industrial transformation, delaying the process of industrial relocation, and keeping more high-quality jobs in China, it will help further improve workers’ incomes and living standards, and help China’s socialist modernization drive.” Sun Zhongwei said that no matter how the epidemic develops and when it disappears in the future, the scope and pace of China’s intelligent transformation should be further accelerated, which will constitute a new growth point for both the business development of enterprises and the economic development of the whole country.
