Taking the five-axis CNC machine tool industry as an example, at present, the performance indicators of some high-end five-axis CNC machine tools in China have reached the international advanced level, the overall market size is expanding, and the order volume of domestic enterprises is increasing.

Data show that in 2022, China’s five-axis CNC machine tool market size increased from $665 million in 2020 to $929 million, accounting for the global proportion expanded from 9.84% to 11.03%. It is expected that in 2023, China’s five-axis CNC machine tool market will exceed $1 billion.

Recently, two listed companies engaged in the five-axis CNC machine tool industry, Cord CNC and Newey CNC released a performance forecast for the first half of 2023.

Newey CNC:

On the evening of July 10, Newey Numerical Control released a performance forecast that it is expected that the net profit attributable to the owner of the parent company in the half year of 2023 will be 148 million yuan to 156 million yuan, which will increase by 31.4689 million yuan to 39.4689 million yuan compared with the same period in 2022, an increase of 27% to 33.87%.

It is reported that Newey CNC focus on high-end CNC machine tool research and development and production, since the establishment of the company, has produced vertical CNC machine tools, horizontal CNC machine tools, large machining centers, including 7 categories of more than 200 types of CNC machine tools.

In 2023, in order to further accelerate research and development and industrialization, and improve the ability of autonomous control, Neway CNC held a signing ceremony for high-end CNC equipment and core functional components project in March in the functional area of Taihu Science City. It is understood that the total investment of the project is 700 million yuan, and it is expected to be put into operation in 2025. After putting into operation, more than 2,500 units (sets) of CNC equipment and core functional components will be added, and the total output value of the enterprise will exceed 3.5 billion yuan.

In addition, Newey CNC is also one of the few companies in the industry that can produce five-axis CNC machine tools, and the current product performance is close to the international benchmark enterprises. Through the investor relations interactive platform, Newey CNC mainly produces more than 20 types of five-axis linkage machine tools, such as five-axis linkage vertical machining center, five-axis linkage gantry machining center, and five-axis linkage horizontal machining center. Products are widely used in aerospace, precision mold, new energy and other fields.

Cord CNC:

The company’s performance forecast on July 17 shows that it is expected to achieve operating income of 201 million yuan in the first half of 2023, which will increase by 60.17 million yuan compared with the same period in the first half of 2022 (statutory disclosure data), an increase of 42.72%. Among them, the net profit of the first half of 2023 will be 45.3 million yuan to 54.3 million yuan, which will increase by 17.87 million yuan to 26.87 million yuan compared with the same period in the first half of 2022 (statutory disclosure data), an increase of 65.15% to 97.96%.

In the first half of the year, the sales scale of Cord CNC increased, on the one hand, because the five-axis linkage CNC machine tool produced by the company is currently in strong market demand, the company’s order volume increased significantly, and the growth rate of new orders exceeded 90%. At present, with a high degree of professional autonomy, Cord CNC has grown into a large-scale five-axis equipment production and marketing base in China.
