On August 10, the 2023 Industrial Internet and Big Data Industry Development Conference was held in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province.

“Zhangjiakou, as the core city of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei computing hub node, has unique advantages in the development of digital economy, and is an ideal place to build super-large-scale data centers.” Zhangjiakou City People’s Government Mayor Li Keliang introduced in his speech, Zhangjiakou adhere to the two-wheel drive, relying on convenient location advantages, unique cool climate, abundant green electricity resources, perfect network facilities, built a special channel for the international Internet, into the national “gigabit city” ranks. At present, Zhangjiakou has 1.39 million servers in operation, ranking first in the province, accounting for 22% of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the digital economy has become a powerful engine to promote the high-quality economic and social development of the city. Big data industry is a strategic emerging industry, with high penetration and high integration characteristics. Guo Huadong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the International Research Center for Big Data for Sustainable Development, delivered a keynote speech on the topic of “Big Data Helping the World and Hebei Province achieve Sustainable Development Goals”. Based on the international environment and big data development issues, Academician Guo Huadong explained the monitoring and evaluation role of earth big data in energy, environment, climate and other aspects based on target monitoring data, combined with typical cases such as clean energy, sustainable cities and communities in Hebei Province, and introduced the results obtained in three aspects: data products, method models and decision support. It demonstrates the role of big data in monitoring the seven Sustainable Development Goals at four scales: global, regional, national and local.
