The “China Robotics Technology and Industry Development Report (2023)” (hereinafter referred to as the “report”) was released at the 2023 World Robot Conference on the 17th. The report shows that with the rapid development of robot technology and the continuous exploitation of market potential, the global robot industry has maintained a growth trend, and China has become an important driving force for the development of the robot industry. The automotive and electronics industries are still the areas with the highest degree of robot application, and humanoid robots are developing rapidly.
The report pointed out that robots, as a shining pearl of scientific and technological innovation, are one of the important indicators to measure a country’s scientific and technological innovation ability. The world’s major industrial countries will use robots as a competitive highland for technological innovation, accelerate strategic layout, enrich technical reserves, and improve industrial construction.
In terms of technological development trend, in recent years, robot technology innovation continues to be active, patent applications show a strong momentum of development, the number of Chinese patent applications ranks first in the world, the number of patent applications has maintained an upward trend, leading enterprises attach importance to the global strategy of patent layout, and global competition has become increasingly fierce.
The report shows that at present, the overall development level of China’s robot industry has steadily improved, application scenarios have significantly expanded, the process of localization of core components has accelerated, the advantages of collaborative robots, logistics robots, special robots and other products have been continuously enhanced, and a large number of innovative enterprises have emerged.
From the distribution of state-level specialized new “little giant” enterprises and listed enterprises in the field of robotics, China’s high-quality robot enterprises are mainly distributed in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta regions, forming an industrial cluster represented by Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Dongguan, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Suzhou, Foshan, Guangzhou, Qingdao, etc., and led by local high-quality enterprises. A number of emerging enterprises with strong competitiveness in the field of segmentation have emerged.
In view of the future development trend of the robot industry, the report pointed out that the new technology of the robot industry will accelerate the integration and innovation breakthrough, the application scenario will continue to expand, the large model will become the intelligent “brain” of the robot, the robot will promote the digital transformation of the industry, and the robot ecology will accelerate the integration and symbiosis.
