The visit sites of this media tour are representative cases of Siemens and its partners in the field of green, low-carbon and sustainable development.
The new factory of Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Co., LTD. (SNC) is Siemens’ first native digital factory in the world. In the virtual construction stage of the factory, Siemens has completed the virtual construction of the factory in the software system with the digital twin technology covering the factory demand analysis, layout design, production process simulation and virtual debugging. In the physical construction and operation stage, the big data analysis based on Siemens Industrial Cloud and its organic combination with the industrial Internet of Things system further optimize the production process, provide real-time and reliable data support for actual production, and realize digital manufacturing and management. SNC is also a green, efficient and low-carbon demonstration plant. Using low carbon technologies such as rooftop photovoltaics, ground source heat pumps, high efficiency pumps and fans, heat recovery units, rainwater recovery systems, wind and photovoltaic LED street lights, smart lighting control systems and solar water heating systems, the plant can save 3,325 tons of carbon emissions per year.
Changshu High-tech Zone MOBO Collaborative Innovation Industrial Park was jointly built by Changshu National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Suzhou Land Real Estate Group Co., Ltd. and Siemens, and was officially put into use in August 2022. This is the first low-carbon smart park project of Siemens in China, which consists of comprehensive buildings, pilot R & D buildings, high-standard multi-storey factories and talent apartments. Siemens has planned and delivered the Siemens SC Insights X smart Park management platform for the industrial park based on the core concepts of iot scenario, green and low-carbon, remote operation and maintenance, and asset enhancement. The platform integrates five intelligent park management systems, namely, intelligent security, intelligent fire protection, energy carbon monitoring, building automation, and one-card system, which greatly improves the park’s intelligent operation capability and green and low-carbon efficiency.
In terms of energy consumption management, thanks to the application of the Smart ECX carbon management platform of Siemens, the industrial park has realized energy consumption data monitoring, clear carbon emission footprint, controllable energy consumption waste points and sustainable energy consumption management and control system, and successfully established a digital base for energy saving and carbon reduction. In terms of building control, Siemens Enlighted Internet of Things control equipment through the real-time perception of personnel mobility, linkage lighting, air conditioning, fresh air, curtains and other automatic control equipment, so that the indoor environment is always kept in a comfortable and energy-saving state. Through the use of Siemens low-carbon Smart Park solutions and various energy control systems, the park’s expected energy consumption and carbon emissions are reduced by about 45%, and emergency response speed is improved by about 35% while reducing the park’s property and security personnel.
Datong Gear Transmission (Kunshan) Co., LTD., a high-tech enterprise focusing on high-end gear transmission manufacturing, is a demonstration small and medium-sized enterprise in Jiangsu Province and the hidden champion of Kunshan small and medium-sized enterprises. As a supply chain enterprise of Siemens in China, Datong Gear and Siemens have launched extensive and in-depth cooperation. In the field of digitalization, Siemens helps Datong Gear build a smart factory through automation and digital products and solutions such as PLC. In the field of low-carbon sustainability, the two sides have conducted in-depth cooperation in multiple dimensions. From assisting in the definition of emission standards to the design and modeling of the product carbon footprint calculation scheme, and from the energy consumption of the product raw materials, processing process, logistics transportation and related auxiliary facilities, Siemens helped Datong Gear to carry out carbon emission information statistics, carry out on-site counseling, and successfully deploy SiGREEN, a trusted actuarial and traceability solution of Siemens carbon footprint. Achieve real-time statistics and accurate control of carbon emission data. Based on this, Siemens also assisted Datong Gear to obtain a carbon footprint verification statement certificate certified by TUV SUD, which laid a solid foundation for the company to achieve its goal of reducing electricity consumption by 20%.
