Swire Coca-Cola (China) Co., LTD. (Hangzhou Factory)
Siemens (China) and Swire Coca-Cola (China) have established a long-term digital strategic cooperation. The manufacturing information System (MIS) jointly developed by the two parties can collect equipment and process data in real time during the production process, and realize dynamic data analysis in multiple dimensions such as efficiency, energy consumption, safety, quality and prediction. Improve the production process information monitoring and analysis, quality process control, equipment management and maintenance, anomaly warning and detection, production performance evaluation and intelligent decision-making based on big data and other functions to help Swire Coca-Cola continue to optimize the supply chain performance indicators. MIS has been widely applied to 43 production lines in some 17 facilities of Swire Coca-Cola, with the remaining production lines to be deployed in the next two years.
Two years of large-scale deployment of MIS, through the digital monitoring of production lines, has helped Swire Coca-Cola achieve root cause analysis and rapid response to failures and energy consumption, and improve equipment operation efficiency. As a digital tool, MIS helps front-line employees apply lean manufacturing concepts to their work, helping Swire Coca-Cola improve production line efficiency to the leading level in the Coca-Cola global system. By the end of 2022, the MIS system has helped Swire Coca-Cola’s production line improve efficiency by more than 2%, and the capacity level is equivalent to two new production lines compared to the previous year. MIS, combined with Swire Coca-Cola’s concept of sustainable improvement, reduced energy consumption by 8.5%, saving 32 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and more than 20,000 tons of carbon. At present, MIS system has been iterated to version 2.0, MIS 2.0 includes energy management, online quality monitoring, equipment health status monitoring and other modules, among which energy management module through the digitization and accurate analysis of unit energy consumption of factory production lines and key equipment, it is expected that on the basis of existing improvement, energy consumption can be further saved by more than 3% per year.
In the future, Siemens will work with more ecological partners to promote green and low-carbon transformation, apply its technological advantages and industry solutions to various industry scenarios, and promote the sustainable development of the whole industry.
