This acquisition marks Fluke’s further deployment of leading solutions in the field of photovoltaic test and measurement, as well as its commitment to the electrification of the world.
With 1500V high voltage commissioning, the VA-1500 expands Fluke’s comprehensive solution for photovoltaic technicians and enhances its service capabilities for the utility market.
The combination of Solmetric’s innovative technology and Fluke’s extensive distribution channels enhances Fluke’s ability to deliver high-quality, reliable and safe products to customers around the world.
Fluke, a wholly owned subsidiary of the FORTIVE Group and a global leader in electronic test tools, recently announced the acquisition of Solmetric, California-based Solmetric, a leader in high-precision photovoltaic test and measurement.
This acquisition demonstrates Fluke’s commitment to the electrification of the world on a global scale and its commitment to consistently deliver innovative products with high quality, reliability and safety to technicians.
Solmetric is best known for its PV Analyzer, which features advanced I-V curve mapping for field test applications such as commissioning, tracking, and troubleshooting of PV arrays. The PVA-1500HE is a 1500V I-V curve analyzer capable of testing efficient modules for utility-scale PV (centralized PV plant) applications.
The acquisition also includes SunEye, a shadow measurement tool for solar shadow analysis, which provides expert solar PV design for technicians in the PV field and their customers with a very high ROI.
Jason Waxman, President of Fluke Corporation, said: “This is an important milestone in Fluke’s journey in photovoltaics, and Fluke’s acquisition of Solmetric reflects our commitment to providing best-in-class products to field technical experts. Solmetric’s innovative PV tools and its team’s deep expertise in the field, combined with Fluke’s passion for more efficient electrification of the world, allow us to better serve our customers and change the landscape of the industry.”
Willard MacDonald of Solmetric added, “We are excited to see Solmetric grow and grow under Fluke’s leadership. With Fluke’s strong distribution channels, more customers around the world will benefit from Solmtric’s products. Fluke and Solmetric share a common commitment to delivering next-generation solutions to our customers in the PV space.”
This acquisition expands Fluke’s product line and marks the combination of two leading brands in test measurement and PV testing.
Founded in 2005, Solmetric’s experts have extensive experience in photovoltaic installation and the development of high-precision test and measurement tools. Upon completion of the acquisition, all of its employees will come under Fluke’s umbrella.
