Deepen the industry to explore together and pave the road to zero carbon industry
With mature carbon reduction concepts and advanced carbon reduction technologies, Schneider Electric has achieved fruitful results in the process of carbon reduction: As the first “carbon neutral” factory in China, Schneider Electric’s Beijing plant has completed energy-saving renovation and energy system optimization through a series of innovative solutions. The Beijing plant can save 100,000 KWH of electricity a year, energy consumption has been reduced by 10% in the past three years, and energy consumption per unit of output value has been reduced year by year. At present, Schneider Electric has a number of zero-carbon plants in China, and through the deployment of a variety of digital operation systems, the overall energy consumption of Schneider Electric’s supply chain in China has been reduced by 13%.
In the practice of building zero-carbon parks, Schneider Electric, together with the European Government and the German Energy Agency, take the lead in setting an example for the world. Once an abandoned gas station, it has been transformed into the Euryhall Park, becoming the first zero-carbon park in Europe and the world’s leading. Covering an area of 5.5 hectares, the park is home to 150 innovative companies and nearly 3,500 people. Since its completion in 2014, the park has met Germany’s and the EU’s 2050 climate targets, proved its economic viability and set a benchmark for zero-carbon parks worldwide.
The two standards of “Zero-carbon factory creation and Evaluation based on Blockchain” and “Zero-carbon Industrial Park Implementation path Planning and Evaluation” run the system concept through the whole process of “dual-carbon” work in enterprises and industrial parks. After the release of the standard, more enterprises and industrial parks will carry out carbon reduction actions in accordance with the standard content, improve their independent emission reduction capacity, and play a positive role in promoting their high-quality low-carbon transformation and sustainable development. Yi Xiong, Senior vice President, Strategy and Business Development China Head of Schneider Electric, said: “As a long-term witness and participant in the development and construction of China’s manufacturing industry, Schneider Electric has been actively promoting the low-carbon and digital transformation of the manufacturing industry and growing together with the industry. We hope that by actively participating in the formulation of the two major standards of ‘zero carbon factory’ and ‘zero carbon park’, Schneider Electric will maximize its technical expertise and international experience in the field of energy management and industrial automation, and contribute to the high-end, intelligent and green development of manufacturing and the realization of the two-carbon goal.”
