China is making plans to accelerate the new type of industrialization.
The National Conference on the Promotion of New Industrialization was held recently, which is the first national conference held in China on the theme of new industrialization. The executive meeting of The State Council studied the work related to accelerating the new industrialization. The experts interviewed believe that the new industrialization is a vivid practice of the new development concept in the industrial field and will reshape Chinese industry.
Industry is the foundation of comprehensive national strength. By 2022, China’s industrial added value has exceeded 40 trillion yuan. China’s manufacturing industry ranks first in the world for 13 consecutive years. China is the only country in the world with all the industrial categories listed in the UN Industrial classification. The output of new energy vehicles and photovoltaic has been the first in the world for many years.
At present, the environment for China’s economic development is changing. Li Hongwei, director of the New Industrialization Research Institute of the China Electronic Information Industry Development Institute, said in an interview with China News Service reporter that from the perspective of technological innovation, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change are developing deeply, and are reshaping the production mode and industrial form of manufacturing industry; From the perspective of geopolitics, the competition between major powers has intensified, and the pattern of economic globalization and division of labor is reversing to regionalization.
Pan Helin, co-director and researcher of the Research Center for Digital Economy and Financial Innovation at the International Joint Business School of Zhejiang University, told China News Service that from a domestic perspective, China’s labor costs are rising, and it is urgent to increase the added value of industrial products to respond to changes in the economic environment. To achieve a new type of industrialization is to reshape China’s industry and enhance its competitiveness through the “new four modernizations” of knowledge, information, globalization and ecology.
On the 25th, the Party Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China held a meeting to study and implement measures, and identified a number of key tasks from improving the resilience and safety level of the industrial chain and supply chain, accelerating the improvement of industrial innovation capacity, promoting the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, and promoting the green development of industry.
The digital economy is the main direction of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and many countries around the world are engaged in fierce competition on the digital economy. In recent years, the digital, intelligent and green transformation of China’s industrial industry has been accelerating, and in the future, special actions will be carried out to deepen intelligent manufacturing engineering and digital empowerment of small and medium-sized enterprises, promote the innovative application of artificial intelligence, and continue to appropriately advance the construction of new information infrastructure such as network and computing power.
Among them, artificial intelligence will reshape various economic forms of production and consumption, especially reshape future industrial forms, and create a large number of new application scenarios and ecology. In September, a number of large models in China were opened to the public, entering the stage of large-scale and inclusive landing, and accelerating the empowerment of relevant scenes or industries.
The industrial Internet and 5G+ Industrial Internet are important infrastructure for the digital transformation of enterprises. Xiao Xue, executive president of Inspur Group and chairman of Inspur Yunzhou Industrial Internet, said that building a modern industrial system is the key task to achieve the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, and enterprises should actively play the main role in this process.
To promote new industrialization, we need to optimize and upgrade the industrial system, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, actively cultivate new industries and new racetracks, strengthen the advantages of the whole industrial chain in new energy vehicles, photovoltaic, mobile communications, and power equipment, and create more made-in-China business cards.
Wang Weiming, director of the first Department of equipment industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that it is necessary to aim at the overall goal of basically realizing the new industrialization by 2035, focus on high-end equipment manufacturing, pay attention to the implementation of a number of major projects, and strive to create more multinational heavy equipment and new business cards made in China.
To promote a new type of industrialization, we also need to improve the resilience and safety of industrial chains and supply chains. A number of departments in China have coordinated efforts to strengthen the weak board, stretch the board, forge new board, and carry out the industrial foundation reconstruction project and major technological equipment research project.
As the “national team” and “vanguard” of China’s machinery industry, Zhang Xiaolun, chairman of the National Machinery Group, said that the group should focus on major technical equipment research projects to solve the heavy equipment needed by the country in the new industrialization, and solve the level of the national industrial base and basic components.
Pan Helin said that the new industrialization will promote the high-quality development of industry, promote Chinese industrial enterprises from the low-end of the global industrial chain and value chain to the high-end, improve the added value of industry by technology, brands, enhance the global competitiveness of Chinese manufacturing, and then adapt to the global competition situation, and maintain the lead.
Li Hongwei said that the next step is to build a number of new industrialization construction demonstration areas, summarize typical practices and experience in a timely manner, and give full play to the leading role.
