Recently, the 12th China International Steel Conference and 2023 Global Low-carbon Metallurgy Innovation Forum was held in Shanghai. Siemens attended the forum and was approved to join the Global Low Carbon Metallurgy Innovation Alliance.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Green New Momentum, New Development of steel”. In the metallurgical industry, Siemens works with end customers and engineering partners to combine automation and digitalization expertise with industry experience to explore innovations in the field of low carbon and energy efficiency and to help customers achieve sustainable development:
Xcelerator, Siemens’ open digital business platform, facilitates ecosystem interaction, co-innovation and brings real value to the industry
SiGREEN, Siemens’ trusted actuarial and traceability solution for carbon footprints, helps customers quantify carbon reduction measures more precisely
The Siemens Process digital Twin platform GPROMS captures core process knowledge and empowers the steel industry to accelerate low-carbon process innovation
The Siemens Predictive Maintenance system SiePA ensures the normal operation of critical equipment in the plant and reduces the risk of unplanned shutdowns
In the field of traditional automation, Siemens continues to introduce new products based on the concept of low-carbon environmental protection, helping enterprises to improve production efficiency and production reliability
Guo Ming, general manager of metallurgical industry of Siemens Industrial Digitization Group, attended.
In the future, Siemens will continue to rely on the localized value chain and global resources, as a pioneer, practitioner and enabler in the field of sustainable development, through the “digital” and “low-carbon” dual-wheel drive, share, create and win-win with customers and partners, jointly promote the high-quality development of China’s steel industry, and accelerate the development of a better future of sustainable development.
The Global Low-carbon Metallurgy Innovation Alliance was initiated by the global steel giant China Baowu and jointly launched by the global steel industry and ecosphere partners. On November 18, 2021, the Global low-carbon Metallurgical Innovation Alliance was announced in Shanghai, and the world’s leading steel enterprises are members of the alliance, which aims to promote the global metallurgical industry to establish a new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, open and sharing, and jointly build a platform for technology exchange and cooperation to share and gather the global metallurgical ecosystem.
