On August 23, “Walking Davos” entered the Beijing urban sub-center, and a total of 61 enterprises and 105 entrepreneurs, including ABB, participated in the activity online and offline. CAI Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, met with representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises participating in the event; Deputy Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee and Mayor Chen Jining and Chinese Special Envoy on Climate Change Xie Zhenhua also met with the meeting.
CAI Qi welcomed the presence of Chinese and foreign business representatives and thanked everyone for their support for Beijing’s development. He said that the World Economic Forum, in the form of “walking Davos”, invites multinational companies to different places and sets up a platform for exchanging ideas and cooperation, which will play a positive role in the international community’s joint response to the challenges of the novel coronavirus pandemic and promote the recovery and development of the world economy. It is hoped that all of you will give full play to your advantages to participate in and support Beijing’s green and low-carbon development, reduce the carbon emissions of your own enterprises, and drive the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to save energy and protect the environment.
Kang Liang, general manager of ABB (China) Co., Ltd. was invited to attend the event. He introduced the latest situation of ABB’s development in China and the concept and practice of enabling the green low-carbon transformation of the industry through digital innovation and promoting sustainable development in the government-enterprise exchange meeting, and expressed gratitude to the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the municipal government and the National Development and Reform Commission for their long-term support to ABB.
The release of the “double carbon” target provides huge business opportunities for Chinese and foreign enterprises. As the world’s only “Double Olympic” city, Beijing has always integrated the green and low-carbon concept into its development and construction, leading the high-quality development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration. At the exchange meeting, Kang Liang introduced ABB’s latest progress in intelligent manufacturing, intelligent energy, intelligent transportation and smart city fields, as well as application cases in the infrastructure of the Winter Olympic Games, Tongzhou City Sub-center, Daxing International Airport and Beijing urban rail transit.

At present, ABB has three enterprises in Beijing selected as the national Ministry of Industry and Information Technology “green factory”, of which Beijing ABB Low voltage Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. is also identified as a carbon neutral factory, Beijing ABB Electric drive System Co., Ltd. is identified as a foreign research and development center.
