• More than 50 innovative exhibits were showcased, with many new products debuting globally and in China
• Plans to sign a number of strategic cooperation agreements to work with all parties to accelerate digitization and green transformation
• Lock the booth of next year’s CIIE in advance, and continue to write the story of open cooperation and win-win development
On November 5, the 6th China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai. ABB will participate in this international event for the sixth consecutive time, with the theme of “The ideal Partner for Sustainable Development”, focusing on more than 50 innovative products and technologies in the three fields of smart energy, smart manufacturing, smart transportation and smart city. Including a new generation of collaborative robots, new high-voltage air circuit breakers, gas-insulated ring cabinets, smart DC charging piles, high-efficiency motors, frequency converters and ABB cloud drives, as well as a range of automation solutions for the process industry, mixing and Marine industries, New measurement products, intelligent electrical products and intelligent manufacturing solutions for the steel and non-ferrous metal industries will be launched, and ABB innovations from around the world will be gathered at the Jinbo booth.
Dr. Gu Chunyuan, Chairman of ABB China, said: “As an old friend of CIIE, we are full of expectations for the CIIE every year. In the past five years, ABB has demonstrated more than 210 innovative products and cutting-edge technologies at the Expo, and released a number of new products and digital solutions. Through this platform, we can better listen to the market and gain more business opportunities, signing about 90 strategic cooperation agreements. With the strong influence and spillover effect of CIIE, we look forward to more ABB new products and technologies taking off from Jinbo and landing in the country this year, while deepening cooperation with customers in various industries and jointly exploring the road of green, low-carbon and sustainable development.”
Accelerate smart manufacturing and industrial digital transformation
Data and its transmission are important drivers of industrial digital transformation. The emergence of Ethernet advanced physical layer (ETHERNET-APL) technology has enabled the digital factory to “fly into the homes of ordinary people” and achieve “one network connection” from the management level, the operation level, to the field instrument and equipment level. At this year’s Expo, ABB will launch a new generation of measurement products equipped with Ethernet advanced physical layer technology. With ETHERNET-APL technology, the measuring instrument can be seamlessly integrated into the factory Ethernet to achieve safe deployment in dangerous areas, stable and reliable transmission over long distances, and open up the “last meter” of information interaction between the site and operation management, providing a solid data foundation for the intelligent management of the whole process. ABB will also integrate Ethernet-APL technology into its distributed control system to provide industrial users with seamless communication with the field, and the technology will be first deployed at BASF’s integrated base in Zhanjiang, China. At the Expo booth, ABB will display multi-directional process automation products and solutions integrated with APL technology.
Man-machine collaboration is an important trend in the development of industrial robots. ABB will present two advanced collaborative robot modules, including the GoFa™ Education module, which is a practical device for ABB’s latest Robot Teaching feature pack, designed for teaching and training, combining comprehensive hardware Settings with globally certified STEM training courses to guide the new direction of robot teaching and automation education. The GoFa™ Blind Box workstation’s next-generation cooperative robot, the GoFa 12, has a 12kg load, 1.37m working radius and 2.2m/s operating speed, and all six joints are equipped with torque sensors for superior power and force-limiting performance, allowing it to accomplish more tasks faster and ensure operator safety.
In addition, ABB will also release intelligent manufacturing solutions developed by ABB for the steel and non-ferrous metal industries at this Expo. The solution combines a basic process automation solution, an intelligent centralized operation platform and a big data analytics platform to help customers leverage ABB’s expertise and advanced technology to improve their own manufacturing processes. This cutting-edge solution will help optimize operational efficiency, productivity, safety and reliability for steel manufacturers.
