Skylo Technologies, a global operator of software-defined non-terrestrial networks (NTN), has announced a strategic partnership with Rohde & Schwarz and continues to strengthen its collaboration. The collaboration aims to strengthen and expand NTN’s testing capabilities to ensure that chipsets, modules and devices using NTN’s NB-IoT protocol integrate seamlessly with Skylo’s network and comply with 3GPP Release 17 standards. The two companies will integrate state-of-the-art testing methods to ensure Skylo’s breakthrough connectivity solutions meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Skylo’s non-terrestrial network aims to bridge the digital divide by providing reliable and affordable adequate connectivity to industries such as agriculture, maritime and logistics. The network utilizes advanced satellite and ground-based technology to allow real-time data transmission, reshaping industries that previously lacked connectivity.
The Rohde & Schwarz NTN device acceptance test framework is based on the market-leading R&S CMW500 wideband wireless communications tester. From R&D and GCF/PTCRB certification to operator acceptance testing, the framework is the solution of choice for all phases of ground and non-ground iot testing.
With the powerful R&S CMW500 software stack, the framework delivers reliable and repeatable results in a single device, ensuring the highest level of performance across the entire ecosystem. It has NTN Release 17 functionality and supports different tracks. Customers can take full advantage of their investment in the R&S CMW500 tester with a single software update that allows them to validate NTN NB-IoT as well as legacy NB-IoT devices.
The solution will play a key role in perfecting and optimizing NTN connectivity by rigorously testing NTN devices and their ability to work seamlessly in the Skylo network. The partnership will ensure Skylo’s customers receive an exceptional connectivity experience.
Dr. Andrew Nuttall, Chief Technology Officer at Skylo Technologies, said: “We are pleased to announce our partnership with Rohde & Schwarz, a leader in test and measurement solutions.
