Recently, Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd. was officially registered in the Robot Innovation Industrial Park of Beijing Economic Development District, marking the establishment of the first provincial humanoid robot innovation center in China. The innovation center will carry out five key tasks, including universal humanoid robot prototype and universal large model of humanoid robot.
It is understood that Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center will create the world’s first universal humanoid robot “hardware mother platform”, the first large model + open source operations control system “software mother platform”; Focusing on the key common problems that need to be solved in the industry, five key tasks including universal humanoid robot ontology prototype, universal large model of humanoid robot, operation control system, tool chain, open source OS and developer community are carried out. The innovation center will also build a “company + alliance” development model, set up expert committees and industrial alliances, promote the exploration of multi-technology paths, promote the transformation of innovation achievements, build a good industrial ecology, and accelerate the supply capacity of humanoid robot technology and the industrialization process.
Humanoid robots integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, high-end manufacturing, and new materials, and are expected to become disruptive products after computers, smartphones, and new energy vehicles, which will profoundly change human production and life styles and reshape the global industrial development pattern. At present, the accelerated evolution of humanoid robot technology has become a new highland of scientific and technological competition, a new track for future industries, and a new engine for economic development, with great development potential and wide application prospects.
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Humanoid Robot Innovation and Development Guidance”, proposed that by 2025, China’s humanoid robot innovation system has been initially established, and a number of key technologies such as “brain, cerebellum, and limb” have made breakthroughs to ensure the safe and effective supply of core components. The industry has accelerated to achieve large-scale development, the application scenarios are more abundant, and relevant products are deeply integrated into the real economy, becoming an important new engine of economic growth.
AI large model power is expected to help humanoid robots to land quickly, and favorable policies are working together with technological progress to accelerate the commercialization process.
Zheshang Securities expects that the demand for humanoid robots will be about 1.77 million units in 2030, and the global market space is expected to reach 169.2 billion yuan, with a CAGR of 25% from 2023 to 2030. Medium and short term (3-5 years) industrial and commercial scenarios take the lead; In the medium and long term (5-10 years later), the application space of personal scenarios is large.
China is the world’s largest consumer market for robots, and humanoid robots are expected to be at the heart of a new cycle of robot innovation. After long-term technology accumulation, domestic manufacturers have layout in many fields of force perception, state perception, visual perception and location perception, and are expected to quickly cut into the humanoid robot industry chain with their own advantages and seize new opportunities.
