Breakthrough innovation: give full play to the power of ecology, cultivate and grow “specialized and special new” manufacturing enterprises
The 2022 Government Work report focuses on cultivating “specialized and new” enterprises to enhance the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry. “Specialized and special” small and medium-sized enterprises with specialized, refined, characteristic and innovative capabilities are the main force of innovation to break through the key links of the industrial chain and enhance the resilience of the supply chain. At the seminar, several guests discussed how to cultivate and strengthen specialized new manufacturing enterprises.
Tong Youhao made a comprehensive interpretation of the connotation and policy of “specialized and special new”. Tong Youhao said that the four words of “specialized and special new” are a system, and enterprises should carry out innovation in specific fields, continue to take root, cultivate intensively, create unique skills, and provide unique products and services for specific customers. According to incomplete statistics, from last year to the beginning of this year, more than 20 industrial policies have been introduced at the level of various ministries and commissions to cultivate and expand “specialized and special new” enterprises, and efforts should be made to spread these good policies through various forms, so that “specialized and special new” enterprises can know, use and fully use industrial policies.
As one of the leading enterprises in the global ICT industry, Lenovo actively resonates with national policies. Lenovo is providing small and medium-sized enterprises with technology, capital, talent, platform and other aspects of support. In Lenovo supply chain enterprises, there are 35 “specialized and special new” enterprises, 15 single champion enterprises, and 7 single product champions. Through Lenovo Venture Capital, Lenovo has successfully invested in more than 200 excellent technology companies, nearly 40 of them have become unicorns in the subdivision field, and more than 10 invested enterprises have been listed on the “specialized and special new little giant” enterprise list.
On the other hand, Lenovo is also actively building an innovation ecology for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, collaborating with customers in digital transformation projects, and constantly cultivating and expanding scientific and technological innovation capabilities through practice. Su Hang shared, “In the construction of the intelligent computing platform jointly built by Lenovo and China Steel Research Group, thanks to Lenovo’s successful ecology, there are many very excellent IT small and micro enterprises to help us solve many technical problems, shorten the platform construction time, and create an international leading computing platform.” In the new fiscal year, Lenovo ISG China also released the “1248” strategic panorama, one of the four customer strategies, “Small and medium-sized enterprise customer strategy”, which will further help the development of “specialized and special new” enterprises.
Long-term layout: Green low-carbon transformation, to create a sustainable development for the future
“Dual carbon strategy” is in addition to digital transformation, China’s manufacturing industry to achieve transformation and break another long-term key task. The “14th Five-Year Plan” Industrial Green Development Plan proposes to comprehensively improve the level of green manufacturing, and the goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions per unit of industrial added value by 18% by 2025.
However, at this stage, the green low-carbon transformation of manufacturing enterprises still has a long way to go. According to Ning, China’s energy consumption per unit of GDP is much higher than the world average. In order to change the current development model of high energy consumption and high cost of manufacturing, we need to change our thinking, strive for excellence, use digital means and capabilities, apply modern communication technology to the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and gradually achieve green and low-carbon transformation in the long term.
As the earliest technology enterprise in China to participate in low-carbon practice, Lenovo has four factories selected as national green factories, green design products, green supply chain management practices have also been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, is a rare enterprise in the industry to achieve the grand slam of green manufacturing system. Lenovo has been working on high-performance computing for 20 years, and the carbon reduction solution with warm water cooling technology as the core can reduce the PUE value of the data center to less than 1.1, helping the data center achieve an annual electricity savings of 42% and reduce emissions.
Lenovo’s green technology is helping many traditional manufacturing companies achieve a low-carbon transition. For example, Lenovo has created an intelligent manufacturing management system and energy control platform for Weifang Special Steel, a large steel industry enterprise, to achieve fine management of the production process, and through the use of Lenovo high-performance, highly reliable servers, to provide strong computing support for huge data flow processing, while achieving zero carbon transformation, to achieve cost reduction and efficiency. Today, Weifang Special Steel can reduce about 13.3 to 136,000 tons of carbon emissions per year, achieving real high-quality development.
