At the end of the third quarter of 2023, the Finnish head office of Fastems, the world’s leading brand of flexible production and intelligent machine plus automation solutions, released a new flexible solution – FPS flexible pallet automation system, which is modular design and flexible layout. It overcomes the space limitation (compact workshop or low-rise high workshop), and is suitable for machining enterprises of different sizes, especially for multi-variety small-batch processing, making it possible to achieve lights-out production.

On the basis of the original flexible solution, Fastems has upgraded and adjusted some of the structure of the new product, retaining the functions and characteristics of each previous product, but also highlighting Fastems careful design considerations, deep insight into the limitations of the user’s production plant, and a high degree of agility to adapt to market needs.

Full Angle, full range of flexible automation

FPS flexible pallet system adopts 360° panoramic design, machine tools, pallet warehouse, loading station are placed in a encircle, and the stacker is solely responsible for the pallet transportation of the entire system. The stacker is equipped with full-angle ultra-long boom to realize efficient transportation from loading station to pallet warehouse and pallet warehouse to machine tool.

Modular flexible automation

FPS flexible pallet library system provides users with different modules of track and pallet library. The track length is 3 meters and 6 meters, which can be freely combined according to the terrain and area of the workshop. Whether it is a micro workshop or a narrow workshop, Fastems can provide customized design solutions, and truly enable enterprises of different sizes to achieve the strategic goal of production flexibility.

The pallet library of the system absorbs the advantages of the preceding product -FPT circular pallet library system, which can be configured with two different loading heights, in addition, the side and both ends of the system can be set up, making full use of every inch of space.

Illustration: FPS is a modular automation system for 4-5 axis milling machines, compatible with machine pallet and zero tray from 300mm to 630mm. Sufficient pallet capacity and automatic production scheduling function are the main driving forces for high cutting rate and lamp out production of the spindle.

Flexible automation for centralized management

Like other products, the FPS-flexible pallet system from Fastems is equipped with industry-leading intelligent production management software (MMS) for planning and sharing production resources (machine tools, operators, tools, fixtures, pallets, etc.), process control, real-time monitoring and traceability of production data. The huge interface database is compatible with the mainstream production management software (ERP,MES, etc.), computer-aided software (CAD/CAM), and 100 brands of 4-5 axis machining centers and milling machine complex equipment.
