Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the development of the new generation of information technology industry has achieved remarkable results, and the industrial gold content, new content and green content have significantly increased. As a key area of scientific and technological innovation, the new generation of information technology has shown the characteristics of growing industrial scale and increasing innovation ability, and the depth and breadth of integration with various industries and fields have been continuously expanded. The foundation for integrated development has been strengthened, and the level of integrated development has reached a new level, providing strong support for the realization of a strong manufacturing country and a strong network country.
Sheng Chaoxun, director and researcher of the Strategic Policy Office of the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research, said that the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and manufacturing industry has enabled the efficiency change of various industries, and new products, new models and new business forms have emerged.
The scale of the industry has accelerated
“At present, China’s network scale is leading the world, with the world’s largest mobile broadband and optical fiber network, and nearly 1.6 million 5G base stations have been built, becoming the first country in the world to build 5G networks based on independent networking mode.” At the same time, the gap between key core technologies such as 5G chips and international advanced levels continues to narrow, and the number of 5G standard essential patents declared by Chinese enterprises remains the world’s leading.” Zhang Yunming, vice minister of industry and information technology, said.
China has formed the world’s largest and most active digital service market. Among them, the global share of e-commerce sales increased from 8% in 2012 to 57% in 2021; The industrial Internet has been applied to 45 national economic categories, and the industrial scale has exceeded the trillion yuan mark. 5G applications cover transportation, medical care, education, cultural tourism and many other fields.
Digital infrastructure is shifting gears. The proportion of optical fiber users has increased from less than 10% in 2012 to 94.3% in 2021. The network architecture has been continuously optimized, creating an “all-round and three-dimensional” network layout, and the network quality has reached or even exceeded the level of developed countries in Europe and the United States. As of March this year, the number of active IPv6 users in China accounted for 63.01% of the total number of Internet users, and the applied IPv6 address resources ranked first in the world. Cloud network coordination and data network integration continue to evolve, and the construction of an integrated digital infrastructure system featuring computing power, algorithms, and data coordination is accelerating.
Big data, cloud computing, blockchain and other industries are expanding in scale. Among them, software business revenue increased from 2.5 trillion yuan in 2012 to 9.5 trillion yuan in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 16.1%, which is nearly twice the growth rate of China’s GDP in the same period. The cloud computing industry has maintained a strong development trend in recent years, with an annual growth rate of more than 30%, which is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. In 2021, the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size will achieve operating income of 14.12 trillion yuan, twice that of 2012; In 2021, the scale of big data industry will exceed 1.3 trillion yuan, with a compound growth rate of 28%; In 2021, the scale of the national blockchain industry reached 6.5 billion yuan, an increase of 30% year-on-year.
“From 2012 to 2021 is a decade of rapid development of China’s new generation of information technology, China’s new generation of information technology in various fields of investment increased, superimposed the impact of the increasing demand for digital transformation, China’s new generation of information technology in various fields of industry scale further expanded.” Gao Dan, associate researcher of the CCID Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that by the end of 2021, the revenue of integrated circuits and telecommunications business exceeded 1 trillion yuan, the market size of the Internet of things exceeded 2 trillion yuan, and the revenue of software business reached 9.5 trillion yuan. Among them, the sales of the integrated circuit industry was 4.8 times that of 2012, and the business income of the software and information service industry was 3.8 times that of 2012.
