Help improve quality, reduce cost and increase efficiency
The food industry is also an advantageous industry in Jinjiang. The reporter saw in the bread production line of Panpan Food 5G smart factory that the 5G technology industry runs through multiple processes such as dough mixing, awakening, and baking.
For example, in the mixing process, the technology of “5G+ Internet of Things” can conduct real-time collection, analysis and scheduling of the feeding, solve the problem of material mismatch or missing allocation, accurately control the feeding, and improve the stability and consistency of production. In the baking process, 5G+AI visual detection is installed at the exit of the automated tunnel oven, so as to detect the color of the baked bread and automatically eliminate the defective products, which greatly improves the production efficiency.
The reporter learned that in March 2023, Panpan Food signed a strategic contract with Fujian Unicom, and the 5G fully connected factory project kicked off. The “5G smart factory” built by Fujian Unicom for Panpan Food is built in three stages. Today, the various processes of workshop production have been visualized, intelligent and lean. In the future, it will also integrate identification analysis applications, build product operation capabilities for food safety traceability, anti-counterfeiting and anti-counterfeiting, deepen carbon operations, introduce carbon footprints, further realize intelligence through 3D digital twins and other technologies, and set a national benchmark for the construction of 5G fully connected factories in the food industry.
The two 5G smart factory cases in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, are setting off a wave of digital transformation and large-scale replication in their respective industries. Fujian is a major province of light industry in China, the output value accounts for about one-tenth of the country’s light industry, the province has 7880 light industry enterprises above designated size, last year to achieve business revenue of 2.24 trillion yuan, accounting for one-third of the province’s total industrial output value. As a traditional advantageous industry and an important livelihood industry, the light industry has a great mission and broad space for digital transformation.
Following the establishment of the China Unicom (Fujian) Industrial Internet Research Institute in Fujian in 2022, the China Unicom Smart Light Industry Corps also landed in Fujian in 2023 and was led by Fujian Unicom. In Fujian, the formation of textile intelligent manufacturing, shoes and clothing intelligent manufacturing, food intelligent manufacturing, characteristic light industry, metallurgical building materials and other eight business departments, as well as four support departments, to create a 300 people rooted in Fujian industrial Internet expert team, trying to form Fujian “industrial Internet first brand”.
Especially in terms of helping the smart transformation of light industry, Fujian Unicom focuses on textile, footwear, food, household appliances and other subdivisions in the field of light industry, and has created two clusters in Changle textile industry and Jinjiang footwear and clothing food industry, forming hundreds of 5G fully connected factory benchmarking, which greatly promotes the process of industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing in Fujian, and enables industrial transformation and upgrading.
Build a second growth curve
At present, China has built the world’s largest and leading 5G network. 5G should not only be built well, but also used well. According to the calculation data of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, 5G spillover effect is significant, and in 2022, China’s 5G will directly drive the total economic output of 1.45 trillion yuan, indirectly drive the total output of about 3.49 trillion yuan, and indirectly drive the economic added value of about 1.27 trillion yuan.
In the process of enabling the digital transformation of thousands of industries, “5G+ industrial Internet” is also an important starting point for operators to optimize their own income structure and transform from traditional telecom companies to new technology enterprises.
In the first three quarters of this year, China Unicom’s industrial Internet business revenue was 60.69 billion yuan, accounting for 24% of the main business revenue, up 1.8 percentage points over the same period last year. China Unicom said that in the first three quarters, the number of 5G virtual private network service customers reached 6,897, an increase of more than 3,000 from the end of last year.
From the perspective of the first half of this year, China Unicom’s industrial Internet business revenue reached 43 billion yuan, an increase of 16.5%, driving the main business income increase of 3.8 percentage points, becoming an important engine to promote the company’s revenue growth and structural optimization. China Unicom introduced in the semi-annual report that the company actively promotes the deep integration of the new generation of digital technology and the real economy, and the cumulative number of 5G industry applications exceeds 20,000, fully covering 60 categories of the national economy, and accelerating from model rooms to commercial housing. The 5G virtual private network has served more than 5,800 customers, and the contract value of the 5G industry reached 6.2 billion yuan. Continued to iterate the 5G private network PLUS product system, carried out research on core technical capabilities, and reached more than 2,600 5G factories, and the application depth continued to expand. Complete the full band 5G RedCap test and verification in 8 major fields such as industry and power, effectively promoting the integration and innovation of 5G and vertical industries.
