In addition to existing white light versions, the OSTAR® Projection Compact family is now available in new red, pure green and blue leds, offering flexible optical design options in a variety of applications, including machine vision and stage lighting, projection and architectural lighting.
Shanghai, China, December 12, 2023 – AMS OSram, the world’s leading provider of optical solutions (Swiss Stock Exchange: AMS today announced the introduction of red, pure green and blue versions of its OSTAR® Projection Compact series of semi-tall, ultra-bright leds that will enable manufacturers of machine vision systems or stage lighting to create more powerful and slimmer products. Ams Osram had previously launched a white light version with this package specification, called OSLON Boost at the time.
The new LED has a high current density and extremely high brightness, making it ideal for high-power lighting products. These leds are powered by AMS Osram’s new 2mm2 chip, which produces a high-brightness light output. Among them, the pure green version of the 520nm wavelength is the brightest of the same type of product (reaching 1000lm at 6A).
OSTAR® Projection Compact leds provide excellent thermal performance and compact, compact packaging for compact installation in high-power luminaire designs. The thermal resistance is only 1.4K/W, while the 4040 package has dimensions of 4.0mm×4.0mm×0.75mm. The half-height design of leds allows manufacturers of lighting equipment and vision systems to reduce product size without compromising brightness and performance.
OSTAR® Projection Compact leds in flat packages are easier to integrate with optical devices than competing domed primary lens designs, allowing flexibility in optimizing optical performance to meet individual application requirements. All OSTAR® Projection Compact leds are the same size, and the single board design can easily change colors between different products.
