On February 28th, at the press conference held by the State Council Information Office to promote the smooth operation and upgrading of industry and information technology, Tian Yulong, Chief Engineer and spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that China’s manufacturing industry’s digital transformation is showing an accelerating development trend, and innovation activities are showing a good trend.
One is the continuous consolidation of the foundation for digital transformation. By implementing the Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Project, more than 150 large-scale industrial Internet platforms have been cultivated, serving over 1.6 million industrial enterprises, providing strong support for digital transformation.
The second is the continuous expansion of the scope of transformation. The new generation of information technology, including 5G, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, is accelerating its integration and penetration into the manufacturing industry, especially in industrial sectors such as steel, automotive, equipment, electronics, and petrochemicals. Integration and cross innovation are constantly deepening. There are over 2000 ongoing projects of “5G+Industrial Internet” nationwide.
The third is the continuous improvement of transformation level. The CNC rate of key processes in industrial enterprises above designated size has reached 55.3%, and the popularization rate of digital research and development tools has reached 74.7%. Digital new formats and models are constantly developing and innovating, with the proportion of enterprises carrying out networked collaboration and service-oriented manufacturing reaching 38.8% and 29.6%, respectively. The role of enterprises utilizing networking and digitization to improve quality, efficiency, and efficiency is very obvious, and industrial competitiveness has been truly enhanced.
