A860-2060-T321 Schneider Electric released a research report entitled “Future Industries: Trends in Talent and Work”
The study, led by Schneider Electric and conducted by Omdia, covers 407 industrial companies in China, the United States, Western Europe (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Sweden), India and Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines), ranging in size from large enterprises to small and medium enterprises.
A860-2060-T321 Industrial talent challenges the current, digitalization into the key
The report shows that there is a growing skills crisis in the industrial sector, and digitization is the answer. More than half (52%) of the companies surveyed believe that winning talent has become one of their main challenges, but this challenge is not unsolvable. Seventy percent of the companies surveyed believe digitalization will help address talent shortages.
A860-2060-T321 The study also found that the Sustainable Development Goals and advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twins, are being further integrated into the industrial sector. 45 per cent and 47 per cent of respondents believe that the workforce needs of their factories will continue to grow in order to achieve environmental and social sustainability goals. At the same time, the responsibilities of existing jobs in the factory will be greatly expanded.
A860-2060-T321 “Digitalization will not only enable industrial companies to increase productivity and efficiency, but also help them solve talent challenges.” Dr. Ali Haj Fraj, Global Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Factories for the Industrial Automation Business at Schneider Electric, said, “Digitalization can help industrial companies effectively optimize their operations management. If employees can use digital technologies to save time for managing their work, they can realize more potential and enable organizations to overcome more challenges and achieve a sustainable future.”
A860-2060-T321 In November this year, Schneider Electric released the “Digital empowerment to build green smart Factory is the right time – Digital empowerment Green smart Manufacturing executive Insight 2023” also shows that the “people-oriented” that fully respects the employee experience and creativity, and the “industrial collaboration” enabled by digital are the two key characteristics of the green smart factory for the future. The report, based on an in-depth survey of senior executives at 120 Chinese companies, found that 93 percent of leading companies have digital projects, 44 percentage points ahead of catch-up companies. Business leaders have realized that forming a digital corporate culture within the organization, building a digital organization, and defining and enhancing the digital capabilities of employees are key to achieving sustainability and scale in the construction of green smart factories.
