Practice ESG concept and take the road of sustainable development

Actively practicing the ESG concept and promoting the innovation and application of sustainable technologies is the only way for enterprises to enter the future, and it is also a “golden key” for green development and long-term growth. Honeywell is committed to achieving carbon neutrality in all of its operations and facilities by 2035 as part of its ongoing drive to achieve corporate sustainability. Since 2004, Honeywell has reduced the greenhouse gas emissions intensity of its operations and facilities by more than 90 percent.

PPU/2/GS In China, Honeywell is also committed to fulfilling the company’s sustainability commitments and contributing to China’s sustainability goals such as “dual carbon”. The sustainable transformation of plant operations is a key part of achieving the company’s goal of carbon neutrality. Honeywell currently has four plants certified as national or provincial “green factories.” Among them, Zhangjiagang plant was successfully selected in the 2022 Green Factory list published by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology last year, demonstrating Honeywell’s professional strength in low-carbon manufacturing and energy management, and also a strong proof of Honeywell’s commitment to sustainable development.

During the construction phase of the Zhangjiagang plant, Honeywell not only achieved zero discharge of industrial wastewater containing nitrogen and phosphorus, but also promoted the comprehensive utilization of general industrial solid waste. Since its operation in 2014, Zhangjiagang Plant has carried out carbon footprint certification for major products, established several ISO quality management systems, and carried out more than 20 sustainable development projects related to production materials, equipment and emission recycling, optimizing the production process of the plant, achieving cost reduction, efficiency, energy saving and consumption reduction.

PPU/2/GS In addition, Honeywell has published several sustainability white papers to help China achieve its energy transition. The “Refueling for Sustainable Aviation” Industry White paper provides support to address current and future carbon reduction challenges in the aviation industry and other fields, and promotes the accelerated implementation of a series of mature solutions such as sustainable aviation fuel in China. Previously, it also released the “White Paper on Low-carbon Development of Refining and Chemical Industry” and “Promoting Sustainable Development with Green Technology”, becoming one of the leading enterprises in the sustainable development of the industry.
