The MVI56-LTQ is a Limitorque valve actuator master communication module that allows ControlloGIx-compatible processors to easily interface with Limitorque valve actuators and other Limitorque protocol-compatible devices. This module acts as an input/output module between the Limitorque valve network and the ControlLogix processor. Data transfer from the ControlLogix processor is asynchronous with operations on the network. The 1500 word register space in the module transfers the valve information in the module to the processor. Ladder logic is responsible for controlling the valve. The data transferred from the processor to the module directs the module to execute commands on valves on the Limitorque network.
The MVI56-LTQ module supports storage and transfer of up to 150 valves to ControlLogix processor controller labels, emulates Limitorque’s port A/B polling scheme, uses two ports on the module, and supports multiple valves. The modules include MX/DDC Modbus, UEC-3-DDC Modbus, DC-100M I/O module, DC-100M field unit, and Valvcon IVO (unit only in multipoint mode). Software configuration includes baud rate, message response timeout, number of active slaves, final state of valve data in case of communication failure, network polling scheme, active slave table (bit mapping), use of CTS module line options, and supported commands including continuous polling, read registers 40008 to 40013, and the following: Optional 40055 or 40006/40007, commands include opening, stopping, closing, starting, terminating, engaging contactors 1 to 6, disconnecting contactors 1 to 6, and positioning valves (0 to 100%).
In addition, the MVI56-LTQ module offers A range of functional specifications, such as data storage and transmission support for up to 150 valves, the ability to simulate Limitorque’s Port A/B polling scheme, and compatibility with multiple types of valves and communication protocols. In terms of software configuration, users can set parameters such as baud rate, message response timeout, and number of active slave stations as required to adapt to different application scenarios and requirements.
The diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities of the MVI56-LTQ module include the LED status indicator, the use of the configuration/debug port, and the reading of the module’s status data through the configuration/debug port. The LED indicator provides general information about the operating status of the module, while the configuration/debug port provides a complete view of the module’s configuration data, status data and internal database, as well as the ability to control the module (for example, perform hot start, cold start, transfer configuration) and upload and download the module’s configuration files.
With these functions, the MVI56-LTQ module ensures efficient communication and control with the Limitorque valve actuators, while providing the necessary diagnostic information to facilitate user troubleshooting and system maintenance.
