The GE H201TI is a small, online early warning transformer fault diagnostic instrument produced by General Electric (GE) that provides workers with early warning to help avoid major failures by detecting failure gases such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide produced in transformer oil. It is compact and easy to install, requires no additional piping and calibration, and provides accurate measurement of faulty gas concentrations, as well as the ability to record historical data. In addition, the H201TI supports a variety of communication protocols for easy integration into existing monitoring systems, with the ability to set multiple alarm thresholds and send alarm signals in a variety of ways.
The application fields of H201TI are very wide, including power plants, substations, distribution stations, etc., industrial enterprises in petrochemical, metallurgy, mining, etc., and railways and subways in the field of transportation. The device is part of GE’s Hydran family of products and focuses on dissolved gas analysis in transformer oil to monitor transformer operation and prevent failure.
The latest version of the H201Ti Mark IV features comprehensive improvements, including a new electronic board and power supply, to make it RoHS compliant, address any obsoleteness, and further enhance this time-tested product. It now offers additional features such as improved sensors, Modbus® protocol communication via isolated RS-485, a local USB port that replaces the no longer used RS-232 port on most field laptops, and compatibility with GE’s prestigious Perceptionâ„¢ Fleet software. For downloads, trend analysis, and data analysis, just like any other GE DGA monitoring device.
It is worth noting that in addition to the transformer fault diagnosis instrument, the GE H201TI name is also used for other products produced by GE, such as single-phase motors and intelligent frequency converter modules, which have their own characteristics and application areas.
