GE recently introduced an important industrial automation component – the IS220PTCCH2B input/output module. The module is an I/O package specifically designed for GE Speedtronic Mark VIe gas turbines and is widely used in asset management systems for steam, gas and wind turbines, power plant balance of generation (BoP), deep sea drilling, desalination, natural gas compression and other critical facilities. It has analog processing capabilities, and can receive and process analog input signals such as voltage and current, which can represent a variety of physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, and flow.
In addition, the IS220PTCCH2B module also has multi-channel capability, which can simultaneously monitor multiple different analog input sources, and exchange and integrate data with other automation equipment, control systems, sensors and actuators through communication interfaces such as Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.
The Mark VIe controller is a single-board stand-alone processor with scalable computing power and no additional battery or jumper setup due to the built-in power supply, which further enhances the reliability and ease of use of the system. Programming, configuration, trend analysis and troubleshooting of the control system can be done through ControlST software, including ToolboxST and WorkstationST programs, which provide powerful tool support.
