Rockwell Automation’s Allen-Bradley brand recently introduced the 5069-L450ERMW controller, a new open controller in the CompactLogix 5480 series. With its high performance and high reliability, this controller is especially suitable for a variety of industrial automation control fields, such as power, petroleum, chemical, steel and paper industries. The 5069-L450ERMW controller is designed with environmental adaptability in mind and can operate safely in environments ranging from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius or 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, making it ideal for hot, dry or cold environmental conditions.
In terms of technical specifications, the 5069-L450ERMW controller has 5MB of user memory and 1MB of secure memory, supports I/O expansion for up to 120 nodes, and up to 24 moving physical axes. In addition, it is equipped with three gigabit Ethernet/IP ports for high-speed communication, I/O and motion control, two of which can be configured to support dual IP addresses or device-level ring networks.
The 5069-L450ERMW controller also features enhanced security features, including digitally signed controller firmware, controller-based change detection, and role-based routines and user-defined instruction access control logs, making the 5069-L450ERMW a powerful tool to support the connected enterprise for data collection and decision making.
The CompactLogix 5480 controller is a real-time controller that runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise in parallel with the Logix control engine, supporting embedded Windows applications such as analytics, data collection, and predictive computing applications. The ability to collect data and make decisions at the device level helps support the connected enterprise, benefiting both end users and Oems.
