ABB has introduced the SYN5201A-Z,V271, model 3BHB006714R0271, a high-performance synchronization and parallelism device that is widely used in power stations or industrial installations with self-contained generation facilities to parallel generators with island or common lines, or in power distribution systems. The device can only close the circuit breaker when the two voltages are roughly in sync, otherwise it may cause line operation failure, generator overload, and even generator damage in extreme cases. SYNCHROTACT® 5 performs these functions safely and reliably, whether as a manually parallel monitoring element or as a standalone fully automatic synchronization device.
SYN5201A-Z, the V271 model has a variety of features, including automatic synchronous and parallel synchronous generators and lines, automatic parallel synchronous and asynchronous lines, transmission lines and busbars, and parallel monitoring (synchronous check) for monitoring automatic or manual parallel procedures, including connecting non-voltage lines (dead busbars).
The device also offers optimized reliability by integrating two automatic two-channel systems in a single unit, usually with output contacts in series (4 channels). One of these two systems can be bypassed with the system selection switch. In addition, security and availability can be improved by using a second redundant synchronization system. If system 1 cannot be synchronized, you can switch to the second system.
ABB SYNCHROTACT® 5 series devices are known for their advanced technology, versatility, decades of experience with synchronous systems, and comprehensive service and support, including 24-hour hotline service and remote service via the Internet, as well as training programs for commissioning and maintenance personnel.
