GE Grid Solutions has introduced the F650 series feeder protection relay, model F650-G-N-F-B-F-1-G-0-HI-C-6-E, a high-performance protection and control device designed for feeder management and interval control applications. The F650 feeder protection relay provides high speed protection and control for feeder management and bay control “It provides rapid protection and control to ensure the stable and safe operation of the power system.”
The F650-G-N-F-B-F-1-G-0-HI-C-6-E model has a variety of protection features, It includes but is not limited to Synchrocheck, Bus/Line Undervoltage, Sensitive Directional Power, and Thermal Image protection. In addition, it features fault locators, fault and event loggers, high-resolution oscillators and data loggers, and advanced monitoring and measurement capabilities with programmable sampling rates.
The device also integrates industry-leading communication technologies and supports a wide range of standard protocols including IEC 61850 Edition 2, DNP 3.0, Modbus RTU and TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-103 and IEC 60870-5-104. Compatibility and flexibility with existing infrastructure are ensured. The F650 also offers optional Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP), High Availability Seamless Ring (HSR) (IEC 62439-3), and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) (IEEE 802.1D) to improve network availability and reliability.
Designed with a focus on user friendliness and ease of operation, the F650 series of relays is equipped with a large graphic display screen or a standard size display screen, and easy to control operation via shuttle keys. In addition, the F650 offers a front panel RS232 interface and rear wired 10/100BaseTX Ethernet, as well as an optional fiber 100BaseFX Ethernet port in single or redundant configurations.
