Schneider Electric recently introduced a new high-performance processor module, the 140CPU67160, to further strengthen its product line in industrial automation. This module is part of the Modicon Quantum family and is the core component of programmable logic controllers (PLCS) designed for harsh industrial environments.
The 140CPU67160 processor module is equipped with a high-performance PowerPC architecture with a maximum frequency of 266MHz, 1024KB of RAM memory, and 256KB of flash memory, providing powerful computing power for complex data processing and control algorithms. It supports multiple communication protocols and interfaces, including multi-mode Ethernet, Modbus Plus, and RS-232/485, ensuring seamless connectivity and data exchange with other industrial devices.
The module also has a hot standby function, which can automatically switch to the standby processor when the main processor fails, ensuring the high availability and stability of the industrial control system. The 140CPU67160 supports distributed I/O systems that can connect up to 63 distributed I/O sites, as well as 31 remote I/O sites, for large-scale industrial automation projects.
In addition, the 140CPU67160 is easy to program and configure, and supports Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Control Expert and Concept programming software for program development and system debugging. The modules measure 190 x 143 x 33 mm and weigh 800 grams, and are compact in design for easy installation and integration.
With the rapid development of intelligent manufacturing and Industry 4.0, the launch of the 140CPU67160 processor module will bring higher performance and stronger reliability to the industrial automation control system, and help enterprises achieve intelligent and digital transformation
