General Electric (GE) recently introduced the VMIVME-2540-000 module, a high-performance intelligent counter/controller designed for industrial automation. With a VMEbus slave interface, the module offers flexible channel configuration options, including digital signal measurement and signal generation for 4, 8, 16 or 24 channels.
The VMIVME-2540-000 module uses a range of AM9513A system timing controllers (STCS) and associated interface logic to enable its diverse measurement and signal output functions. These features include event counting, frequency measurement, period/pulse width measurement, time interval measurement, and digital output. The onboard 68HC000 microprocessor simplifies the user’s programming tasks with the command driven user interface executive board function.
The modules are designed with high performance and flexibility in mind for a variety of industrial and scientific applications such as test and measurement, data acquisition, machine control, process control, and research and development. In addition, the VMIVME-2540-000 module is robust and capable of stable operation in a wide range of industrial environments, with operating temperatures ranging from 0°C to +60°C, storage temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C and humidity ranging from 5% to 95%(non-condensing).
Conclusion:
The introduction of the VMIVME-2540-000 module further enriches GE’s product line in the field of industrial automation. With its high performance, flexible configuration and ruggedness, this module meets the high standards of automation and intelligence required by modern industry.
