GE Multilin recently introduced a new digital alternator management relay 489-P5-LO-A20-E, part of the Multilin 489 family, designed to provide complete management and protection for generators. Designed for induction or synchronous generators, this relay ensures stable operation and increases power generation efficiency.
The 489-P5-LO-A20-E has a wide range of electrical parameter measurement functions, including voltage, current, frequency and power factor. It is capable of operating at frequencies of 25, 50 or 60 Hertz, adapting to the grid environment of different countries. The relay also features 4-20mA analog output and a 40-character display that allows users to easily view numerical information, diagnostics, and set values.
In addition, the 489-P5-LO-A20-E is equipped with multiple communication interfaces and input ports, including RS232 ports, RS485 communication ports, 12 RTD inputs, 6 output relays and 4 VT inputs, and supports ModbusRTU or DNP 3.0 communication protocols for remote monitoring and control with the upper computer system.
Concluding remarks:
The introduction of the new GE Multilin 489-P5-LO-A20-E relay further expands GE’s product portfolio in power system protection and control. Its high-performance electrical parameters, flexible communication interface, and easy to install and maintain design make it an excellent choice for many fields such as electric power plants, industrial power generation, Marine and Marine engineering.
