Woodward today announced the introduction of the new easYgen-3200XT series controller, Model 8440-2082, designed for OEM switchgear manufacturers, generator packers and system integrators, offering exceptional versatility and value. The controller combines complete engine-generator control and protection with advanced point-to-point parallel functionality and innovative features to provide an affordable solution for distributed generation applications.
The new controller 8440-2082 features several advanced features, including true RMS voltage and current sensing, reduced sensitivity to harmonics, and CAN network communication/control to the engine ECU with support for the standard SAE-J1939 protocol and a variety of proprietary engine OEM protocols. In addition, it supports configuration via PC/ laptop using the Woodward ToolKit service tool and can be connected to the RP-3200XT remote panel for complete notification, control and configuration over a distance of up to 250 meters via the CANopen protocol.
The easYgen-3200XT series controllers are used in a wide range of applications, including emergency backup power, distributed generation, island main power, microgrids, utility parallel, cogeneration, and switchgear upgrades. These applications range from emergency backup in data centers, hospitals, commercial and industrial facilities, to oil and gas exploration, oceans, isolated island primary power in remote villages, and microgrids in military, government, zero-network communities, universities, and more.
