Rockwell Automation recently announced a major product update, with the 2711P-K10C4D8 model terminal in its PanelView Plus 6 series confirmed to be discontinued. This device has been widely used in industrial automation for its high performance, versatility and industrial design, offering powerful features including touch screen, keyboard and multiple display modes and resolutions.
The 2711P-K10C4D8 terminal has standard communication interfaces, including Ethernet and RS-232, DC input, and is equipped with Windows CE 6.0 operating system. It supports a variety of programming interfaces and debugging tools, which is convenient for users to develop and debug software, and provides password protection and secure startup functions to ensure user information and device security.
Instead, Rockwell Automation recommends the newer PanelView Plus 7 series terminals, which offer higher performance processors, improved graphics capabilities, and more advanced features. The PanelView Plus 7 series includes standard and performance versions, supports widescreen display sizes from 4 “to 15”, and offers a variety of mounting and protection options, including form coating, stainless steel versions, and ArmorView Plus 7 versions for harsh environments.
Customers with existing 2711P-K10C4D8 terminals are advised to evaluate upgrading to a new alternative as soon as possible to ensure compatibility, continued technical support and improved performance. Rockwell Automation is committed to continuing to provide necessary support and services to customers during the transition period.
