The A6500-TP is a temperature/process card manufactured by Emerson as part of its AMS 6500 ATG machine protection system. This four-channel, 3U size modular design can reduce the cabinet space requirement by half compared to the traditional four-channel 6U size card. It is API 670 compliant, a hot-swappable module, and has self-test capabilities, including monitoring of hardware, power inputs, hardware temperature, sensors, and cables.
The A6500-TP Temperature process card is capable of using 2, 3 or 4-wire RTDs, thermocouples or analog process input signals such as 0-1 V, 0-10 V or 0/4-20 mA standard signals. It has 2 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs, and the measurement signal can be transmitted to the A6500-CC Com card via the internal RS 485 bus and converted to Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP protocols for further transmission to the host computer or analysis system. In addition, the Com card provides communication via a USB socket on the panel for connecting a PC/ laptop to configure the protection card and visualize the measurement results.
The operation of the A6500-TP temperature process card is performed in the A6500-SR system rack, which also provides the connection of the power voltage and signal. The features provided by this card include:
Temperature measurement using RTDs
Temperature measurement using thermocouples with internal and external cold end compensation
Measure standard process signals 0-1 V, 0-10 V, or 0/4-20 mA
The digital signal is collected using two digital inputs
Output analog values through 4 current outputs 0/4-20 mA for each measurement channel
The distribution of the measurement channel can be configured in any way with six digital outputs to output the alarm.
The A6500-TP Temperature process card has been designed with industrial applications in mind and is capable of stable operation in the operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, with dust and moisture protection and IP20 protection. In addition, it has passed a number of certifications, including CE EMC, ATEX, IEC-Ex, CSA, UL, etc., ensuring its reliability and safety in a variety of industrial environments.
