GE Fanuc recently introduced the IC695CRU320-DZ redundant processor, part of the PACSystems RX3i product family, manufactured by GE Fanuc/Emerson Automation. This processor is specifically designed for redundant or hot standby configurations to improve system availability and reliability.
The IC695CRU320-DZ processor features a high-performance 1 GHz Intel Celeron-M processor and plenty of memory space, including 64 MB of non-volatile flash memory and 64 MB of random access memory (RAM) with battery backup. It supports both local and remote expansion racks and is compatible with serial backplane designs for use with expansion modules in the series 90-30 I/O product line, but does not include host racks.
The processor’s redundancy ensures seamless switching to a backup processor in the event of a primary processor failure, thus ensuring continuous system operation. The minimum switching time is 3.133 ms, and the maximum switching time is 1 logical scan. In addition, the IC695CRU320-DZ supports up to two IC695RMX128/228 synchronous links, capable of transferring up to 2 MB of data.
The IC695CRU320-DZ processor is suitable for a variety of industrial applications, including discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, packaging machinery, food processing, utilities, automotive and textiles. Its launch further enriches GE Fanuc’s product line in the field of industrial automation control, providing customers with more efficient and reliable solutions.
GE Fanuc is part of GE Digital, a global leader in the Industrial Internet of Things that provides software and services to industrial companies that help them improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and increase profitability. The programming of IC695CRU320-DZ redundant processor can be completed by ladder diagram, C language and function block diagram language, support Ethernet communication, and through rack-based Ethernet communication module.
