National Instruments (NI) recently introduced a new high-performance embedded controller, the cRIO-9040. This controller, with its rugged and highly customizable characteristics, brings new technological breakthroughs in industrial automation and test and measurement.
The cRIO-9040 controller is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor at 1.30 GHz and comes with 2 GB of DRAM and 4 GB of storage capacity. It uses the Kintex-7 70T FPGA and supports the LabVIEW FPGA module, which enables the cRIO-9040 to handle advanced control and co-processing applications.
The controller supports time sensitive networks (TSN) to provide accurate and synchronous timing and deterministic communication, making it ideal for highly distributed measurement applications. The cRIO-9040 also offers multiple connection ports, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.1, USB 2.0, RS232 and RS485 ports, which make it easy for users to integrate and expand the system.
In addition, the cRIO-9040 has an SD card slot for data logging, embedded monitoring and control. The operating temperature range of the controller is -20°C to 55°C and can be adapted to a variety of harsh industrial environments.
The introduction of the cRIO-9040 controller further enriches NI’s product line in the field of industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing. Its high performance and flexibility make it an ideal choice for industrial control systems. With the continuous progress of industrial automation technology, the advent of the cRIO-9040 controller will bring a more efficient, smarter and safer production experience to related industries.
