Emerson recently introduced the A6500-SR system rack, a key component of its AMS 6500 ATG mechanical protection system. The 19-inch rack (84HP width and 3RU height) is designed to mount up to 11 protective cards, including a dual-channel A6500-UM universal measuring card and/or a four-channel A6500-TP temperature process card, as well as an A6500-RC relay card and an A6500-CC communication card, which supports redundant communication.
The rear of the A6500-SR system rack is equipped with a push-in spring cage connector for connecting input and output signals, as well as a D-Sub connector for sensor raw and slide switch configuration key signals and binary inputs.
Each card slot is equipped with four eight-pole spring cage connectors for connecting a variety of sensor types, including eddy current sensors, piezoelectric sensors, seismic sensors, and thermal resistors, as well as binary input, binary output (functional output), current output, and pulse output. The number of available measurement channels and other features of the rack depend on the card installed.
The introduction of the A6500-SR system rack further enriches Emerson’s product line in industrial automation and machine protection, bringing new options to the global industrial automation market. The high performance and flexibility of this rack make it ideal for interconnecting devices in industrial automation.
