ABB has introduced its new industrial router, the NE870, model 3BSE080239R1. The router not only functions as a firewall, but is also designed to provide network isolation and security for industrial automation systems. The design of the NE870 enables it to divide the system into different Network zones and security zones, mainly for separating the client/server network and the control network, as well as creating the Redundant Network Routing Protocol (RNRP) tunnel zone, This enables secure data transmission between different RNRP networks.
The NE870 features include:
Support redundant power supply and alarm function to ensure the high availability of the system.
Wide operating voltage range (16 VDC to 60 VDC), suitable for a variety of industrial environments.
The rear end is fitted with a cast DIN clamp for easy and stable installation on the DIN rail.
Provides digital I/O ports for monitoring.
Features a console port for easy management using the command line interface (CLI).
Equipped with USB port, easy to save and load system configuration.
Three built-in RJ-45 Ethernet 1000BaseTX connectors support fast Ethernet connections.
Status LED indicator to display device status.
The NE870 router supports RNRP, a redundant network routing protocol developed by ABB for the System 800xA network, which allows the creation of two physically independent networks so that even if one network fails, the other can maintain communication, thereby avoiding the risk of a single point of failure.
ABB’s NE870 Industrial router is expected to play an important role in industrial automation where high security and reliability are required, particularly in industries such as oil and gas, power, chemicals and manufacturing. The launch of this router further enriches ABB’s product line in industrial networking solutions and demonstrates ABB’s commitment to providing innovative industrial automation solutions.
