Woodward Corporation, a pioneer in industrial control technology, today announced the introduction of a new model of its EGCP-3 family, the 8406-113 engine generator control package. Designed for the most demanding power generation applications, this microprocessor-based control package integrates the monitoring, protection and control functions of the engine, generator, power system, switchgear, bus, and generator in a compact and cost-effective unit.
The 8406-113 model has a rated input voltage of 18-32 V DC and is capable of stable operation over an operating temperature range of -20 to +70°C. The control package is equipped with a keyboard and display interface, including two backlit LCD screens that allow the operator to monitor and adjust relevant parameters simultaneously. These screens can display eight lines of status information, and users can choose to view four lines of configuration or alarm log information.
The 8406-113 must be set through the configuration menu before the first boot, and these Settings cannot be changed once the engine is running. Configuration points for standard operation are available through the front panel display, while other configuration points, including standard configuration points, can be accessed from the Watch Window software via the ServLink communication serial link.
The control unit provides nine status menus for easy monitoring and troubleshooting, including system status, engine status, generator status, synchronizer status, KW load status, PF/KVAR status, I/O status, sequence status, and ATS status. It is worth noting that the LS model does not include any transfer switch function, and if you need to perform the ATS function, you need the MC unit.
Concluding remarks:
The introduction of the Woodward EGCP-3 8406-113 engine generator control package has brought new technological breakthroughs in the field of industrial generator control. Its high reliability, ease of operation and powerful monitoring function make it ideal for medium and large power generation systems. We look forward to this control package helping users improve power generation efficiency, optimize energy use, and ensure the stable operation of the power system.”
