Woodward Corporation, a leading manufacturer of engine and turbine control systems, today announced the introduction of its new 8440-2052 H controller. The controller is part of the easYgen-3000 family and is designed to provide comprehensive control and protection capabilities for distributed generation applications of all sizes and complexity.
The new 8440-2052H controller has a variety of control modes, including manual, automatic, load/no-load testing, to meet the needs of different application scenarios. It supports grid-connected and isolated island operation, and is equipped with over-speed, over-voltage, under-speed, under-voltage and other protection functions to ensure the safe and stable operation of the generator set. In addition, the controller has A power supply voltage of 24 VDC and an operating current of 1.5 A, which is suitable for the operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C.
The 8440-2052 H controller features include real RMS voltage and current detection, reduced sensitivity to harmonics, and CAN network communication/control to the engine ECU. It supports the operation of up to 32 generator units and provides functions such as load sharing, circuit breaker control logic, AMF (automatic main Power failure) and backup operation. These features make the 8440-2052 H controller an ideal choice for OEM switchgear manufacturers, generator packers and system integrators.
The new controller has a wide range of applications, including distributed power generation systems, backup power systems, industrial automation control systems, etc. It is especially suitable for the comprehensive control, monitoring and protection of diesel and gas generators, and can automatically control the start, stop and load distribution of the generator set to ensure the efficient operation and stability of the power generation system.
