Peel Magnetic’s security verification service for plants and machines can now be customized to suit your needs, choosing from three different levels of verification. This ensures efficient service to individual needs, allows plants and machines to be designed to meet standards and achieve maximum safety.
After risk assessment, establishment of safety concepts, safety design, and system implementation, safety verification is the final step in achieving plant and machine safety commissioning. The aim is to ensure proper implementation of protective measures and full operation of safety systems. International standards such as ISO 13849, IEC62061 and IEC 61508 form the basis for security verification. These standards state that the machine manufacturer or operator must periodically verify that the safety design has been properly implemented.
However, the requirements may vary depending on the specific application: are additional machines of a proven type involved? Have any minor changes been made to the machine? Or has a complex and significant change been made to the machine, so that it has to be CE certified again? What level of validation is appropriate in each case?
Customer-centric
Peer Magnetic offers tailor-made validation support and an expanded range of mechanical safety services. “The validation we have provided so far is a complete portfolio of services,” said John McAuliffe, vice president of the International Services Group at Peel Magnetic. “However, in some cases, such as buying from a manufacturer with whom you already have a good working relationship, when the same machine has already been installed or minor changes are being made to an existing machine, then a pro rata inspection may be sufficient.”
Based on proven methodology and years of verification expertise, automation specialists Peel Magnetic now offer independent security verification in different ranges. Manufacturers and operators are able to obtain verification that their individual needs are met individually, as well as confirmation of compliance with relevant standards, which means greater efficiency in the implementation process.
Three customized levels
Level 1 verification contains a basic check, highlighting critical nonconformities, and Level 2 conducts a more thorough check, especially in the area of functional safety, which ensures that the machine provides adequate security measures. The Level 3 verification service is an in-depth, detailed compliance check, which is also CE compliant. At all three levels, machine manufacturers and operators benefit from the expertise of Peer magnetic specialists.
