Since its establishment, the university attaches great importance to the cultural environment, actively promotes the construction of a scholarly campus, and promotes the all-round development of students. The school has a reading room, with a strong reading atmosphere to guide students to love reading, reading good books. However, like the majority of rural schools, the experimental school of Jiangue County has been faced with problems such as fewer kinds of books, slow updating, and unable to meet students’ needs for rich reading.
Omron has always been committed to “creating a better society”, actively promoting business growth and corporate social responsibility. In March last year, Omron Group started the long-term strategic plan “Shaping the Future 2030”, which further promotes the vision of shaping a sustainable future society and synchronously promotes the implementation of “10+1” non-financial goals (including 10 common goals of the group and one regional social commitment). It is Omron’s firm commitment to Chinese society to promote the balanced development of education and help the cause of rural revitalization through practice.
Based on the common goal of promoting the development of culture and education with the China Guanghua Science and Technology Foundation, Omron has carried out in-depth cooperation with the foundation in public welfare activities such as “Guanghua Public Books Project” and “Childlike Innocence Harbor” since last year. In response, Xu Jian, managing director of Omron (China) Co., LTD., said, “Culture and education is one of the cornerstones to comprehensively promote rural revitalization. Omron believes in China’s vision of a livable and beautiful countryside. And gathering more industry, professional strength, is the key to achieve the goal. In the future, we will continue to deepen our cooperation with the China Guanghua Science and Technology Foundation, and actively devote ourselves to promoting the balanced development of urban and rural education and caring for the healthy growth of rural children.”
Xu Jian, director and general manager of Omron (China) Co., LTD., delivered a speech at the donation ceremony
Mr. Mei Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Guanghua Science and Technology Foundation, said: “As a manufacturer of automation control and electronic equipment with a long history, Omron not only holds the world’s leading sensor and control core technology, but also actively fulfills its corporate social responsibility. Through book donation and voluntary service, Omron helps cultivate young people’s reading interest and habits, and improves their learning ability and knowledge level. We hope that we can take this as a starting point, work together to bring better public welfare experience to the grassroots youth, and continue to promote the development of cultural construction and education in rural areas.”
In October 2022, Omron entrusted China Guanghua Science and Technology Foundation to donate a total of 1 million tons of books to the experimental School of Jiangue County after learning about the current situation and demand of reading resources. Books were sent to schools at the first time, and the number of books per capita increased significantly, which also enriched students’ extracurricular reading life.
