What still needs to be done to enable production in industrial cloud manufacturing?
In fact, whether it is the industrial Internet, industry 4.0, or industrial cloud manufacturing, the concept and technical architecture are not much different, the essence is still to return to manufacturing, the real use of technology to enable manufacturing production, so that production becomes simpler. Industrial manufacturing is a complex scene involving many links, which requires the construction of the top-level architecture and the empowerment of technology in the actual scene.
The identity parsing system is a key part of the top-level architecture. In November last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that China’s industrial Internet identification analysis system – the “5+2” national top node has been fully completed. According to Zhang Xu, deputy director of the Network Research Institute of China Industrial Internet Research Institute, the current domestic identification analysis system has entered a development period from the initial period, and has entered the construction stage of enterprise nodes from the construction of secondary nodes.
So what does this mean for industrial cloud manufacturing? Zhang Xu said that in traditional manufacturing, production enterprises manage the supply chain, which is originally either internal coding, or the supplier’s own coding, or the host factory re-coding, so it is difficult to achieve synergy. “I once worked with a consumer electronics company, the company has more than 2,000 suppliers, because consumer electronics user experience is very high, so [suppliers] need to synchronize data to the company, the data will use many kinds of encoding, mainly rely on the interface to transmit information, resulting in the company needs to have a large team to maintain this interface.”
“If the upstream and downstream of the industry cooperate, comply with a standard agreement. Even if the data is not connected, the data can be shared through the bridge of identity analysis.” “I think this is a very basic work in the future of cloud manufacturing,” Zhang said.
For similar industrial cloud manufacturing platforms how to use technology to truly empower industrial manufacturing, Ling Weiqing took the industrial Internet platform Predix as an example to propose several major challenges facing platform construction. One is that there are many industrial sites and protocols, and to solve complex industrial equipment, connection, protocol conversion and other problems of various enterprises, there needs to be a strong global partner to complete it, which is not a single enterprise can complete; The second is to build the platform, Predix is both the owner of the platform and the user of the platform, whether it is a referee or an athlete, to position the role well. The third is how to guarantee data security and privacy; Fourth, the closed-loop profit model has not yet formed, “no matter how well the platform is built, it will ultimately survive and create its own blood.”
