TE Connectivity(” TE “), a global industry technology leader in connectivity and sensing, has further strengthened its commitment to reducing the company’s environmental impact after making substantial progress towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
In its annual Corporate Responsibility report under the theme “Connecting Our World,” TE has increased its own direct Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas reduction targets to 70% by 2030 compared to the 2020 baseline. In addition, for the first time, TE has set a “Scope 3” greenhouse gas reduction target indirectly generated by the external value chain: 25% reduction by 2032 compared to the 2022 baseline. These commitments, released in conjunction with TE’s upgraded One Connected World environmental, social and corporate governance Strategy, reflect the company’s latest progress in implementing the strategy and ensure compliance with the Science-based Carbon Target Initiative (SBTi) standards.

In 2022, TE successfully made the following progress:
A combined 34% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions
The number of advanced manufacturing sites using renewable energy increased from 37 to 80, and renewable energy usage now accounts for half of the company’s global energy consumption
The company’s overall water consumption decreased by 15% compared to 2020
In 2022, TE also further increased its commitment to social development, including increasing the proportion of women on its leadership team to 30% by 2026; New goals were set around health; Increase the reach of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education to 10 million people by 2030. TE has been successful in the following areas:
