Launch of “Siemens Xcelerator Open”
The 2023 Siemens Digital Economy Forum was held in Beijing on June 14. During the forum, Siemens announced a series of major initiatives to accelerate its development in China: Siemens Industrial Automation Products China intelligent manufacturing base will be located in Chengdu, the establishment of Siemens Digital Technology (Shenzhen) Co., LTD., and the launch of the first “Siemens Xcelerator Open”.
2023 Siemens Digital Economy Forum, with the theme of “Integration · Creating high-quality Development”, brings together many think tank scholars, business leaders and partners to discuss cooperation and seek opportunities around the topic of how to empower high-quality industrial development through the “integration of data and reality”. Dr. Roland Busch, Chairman, President and CEO of Siemens AG, and Zhang Yong, Chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group, held a dialogue and discussion on hot topics such as the direction of the digital economy, cutting-edge technologies such as AI big language models, and platform-based ecological cooperation.

The new fixed asset investment of Siemens Industrial Automation Products China Intelligent Manufacturing Base is 1.1 billion yuan, which is the fourth phase expansion project of Siemens Chengdu Digital factory, which will create nearly 400 jobs for the local people, and help Siemens further strengthen the localized value chain in China, improve the research and development and manufacturing capacity in the field of automation and digitalization. In order to respond more promptly and efficiently to the needs of customers in China and around the world.

At the same time, Siemens today announced the establishment of Siemens Digital Technologies (Shenzhen) Co., LTD., which will build its first digital platform interconnection business base in China around Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform. The new company focuses on multiple dimensions of the digital economy industrial chain, focusing on the development of future-oriented digital business portfolios such as e-commerce platforms, industrial application apps, green and low-carbon applications, industrial Internet, and smart Internet of Things applications, enabling more small and medium-sized enterprises to quickly start digital transformation and promote the upgrading of the industrial chain. Through this initiative, Siemens will leverage Shenzhen’s advantages in scientific and technological innovation, talent development, policy systems and other aspects to accelerate the construction of digital platforms.

Since the landing of Siemens Xcelerator in China in November 2022, Siemens has fully adapted to the local market demand, continued to expand the platform’s business portfolio, and built an open ecosystem.
The platform has successfully launched more than 10 locally developed innovative solutions, including the latest online predictive analytics solution SiePA, MTS products, services and solutions for the machine tool manufacturing industry, Siemens intelligent distribution management platform PDX, enterprise digital transformation light consulting service package, Siemens X financial Services solutions, which can provide enterprises with financial leasing, commercial factoring, small and micro financing services, etc. At the same time, Siemens is actively implementing the “XaaS” (Everything as a Service) business model, in which SiGREEN, a trusted actuarial and traceability solution for carbon footprints, and SIMICAS®, a digital solution for equipment manufacturers, already provide enterprises with flexible options for cloud and on-premises deployment.
In terms of ecological construction, the number of registered users of Siemens Xcelerator in China has achieved rapid growth, and the growth momentum is stable. In addition, the platform currently has nearly 30 ecological partners covering digital infrastructure, industry solutions, consulting and services, education and other fields, sharing opportunities, creating value, and win-win digital future.
During the forum, the “Siemens Xcelerator Open” was officially launched. Sponsored by Siemens and guided by relevant government departments, the competition invites technological innovation enterprises and ecological partners in various fields, relying on the technical strength of Siemens, focusing on 12 typical application scenarios of intelligent manufacturing and intelligent infrastructure, and developing innovative solutions with original and application value. The competition will run from June to September 2023, and the final selected excellent solutions will have the opportunity to be launched on the Siemens Xcelerator platform and promoted and landed.
