In order to expand the degree of freedom and flexibility in the robot operation, the guide rail is integrated in the form of additional axes to effectively increase the scope of the robot operation. The KL 5000 is a new heavy-duty robot guide rail from Kuka that can be adapted to a wide range of products such as KR QUANTEC, KR FORTEC, and KR FORTEC ultra. The guide can be equipped with an intelligent lubrication system to simplify maintenance: Kuka’s lubrication kit helps to lubricate the rack and slide automatically during operation.
Heavy load capacity up to 5t
The KL 5000 linear guide can handle up to 5,000 kg of weight. Robots with a maximum payload of 800kg or a maximum arm span of nearly 4000mm can be mounted on the rail.
The KL 5000 allows robots mounted on up to four power slides to move along a configurable linear axis up to 30.3 metres long. The Flex variant of the series can support other brands of robots.
Flexible and powerful, the KL 5000 has many advantages
The KL 5000 makes it easier to connect different production units in the production process. Other advantages of the guide include:
01 Easy to integrate
The standard length is up to 30.3m, and longer linear guides are available on request
Can be extended or shortened by various components
Heightening platform for expansion unit
A cable drag chain mounted inside or sideways along the entire length
02 Simple and flexible
Rugged and can carry up to four robots
Power slides for the KR QUANTEC, KR FORTEC and KR FORTEC ultra
Flex variants of other brands of robots are available
Optional lubrication system
Internal or external towing chain system
03 Easy to maintain
Low maintenance cost
No need to disassemble industrial robots
Easily replace motor and reducer
Easy to understand maintenance manual
04 Simple and comfortable
The rack and guide are self-lubricating
The distance traveled by the linear guide rail counts accurately
You can view the distance on both the smartPAD educator and the computer
Assembly is threaded rather than welded
New lubrication system with automatic data collection
KUKA.Lubricate software is suitable for KL 5000 guide rails. The software automatically records and evaluates the distance and running time of the robot, and displays information such as robot history, maintenance tasks and lubrication consumption.
The Kuka Lubrication Kit, available as an optional part of the KL 5000, allows you to no longer lubricate the slide manually, but is automatically triggered by the software as required. The linear shaft is equipped with a lubrication pump that automatically lubricates the rack and rail through the four corners of the power slide as the robot continues to operate. The software calculates the amount of lubrication based on the distance traveled.
