On June 16, at the Yinchuan Economic Development Zone sub-venue of Yinchuan 2023, a major project in the second quarter of the opening ceremony, representatives from Yinchuan City and Yinchuan Economic Development Zone leaders and relevant departments gathered at Schaeffler Yinchuan Factory to witness Schaeffler constantly accelerating the development layout in Yinchuan and accelerating the capacity expansion of high-end bearing projects. With the comprehensive promotion of China’s “dual carbon” goal and the rapid development of the new energy vehicle market, the market demand for high-end bearings continues to increase. In order to meet the growing demand of the market, Schaeffler is accelerating the localized production capacity expansion of high-end bearings, and plans to invest a total of 500 million yuan in the next five years in the Yinchuan plant to build high-end bearing production lines, intelligent testing equipment, automatic logistics and other supporting facilities and equipment for automotive and industrial applications. At the same time, the Yinchuan factory will also focus on Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing, comprehensively improve the level of factory automation, digitalization and intelligence, and achieve a comprehensive upgrade to the smart factory.

Over the years, Schaeffler has continued to deepen its presence in China, and currently has two research and development centers and 11 factories in China. In 2001, Schaeffler (Ningxia) Co., Ltd. was established, which opened the development layout in Yinchuan. In 2002, Schaeffler Yinchuan plant was officially put into operation. Currently, Schaeffler has two factories and one dual-system training center in Yinchuan. Today, as an important part of Schaeffler’s layout in China, the Yinchuan plant has become an important manufacturing base for Schaeffler’s high-end automotive and industrial bearings in China.

In the future, with the continuous advancement of the localization project of high-end bearings in Yinchuan plant, Schaeffler will further enhance its local capabilities in the field of high-end manufacturing and new energy vehicles, respond quickly to customer needs, and contribute to industrial upgrading and high-quality development of regional economy.
