On the morning of June 13, 2023, the launch meeting of the “Power time-sensitive Network Switching Device” of State Grid’s double innovation incubation project was successfully held in Beijing Dongtu Technology Co., LTD. Beijing Dongtu Science and Technology Central Academy and State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute Co., Ltd. experts attended the meeting. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the research content and technical route of the project, formulated the project schedule, and deeply discussed the application prospect and application scheme of time sensitive network (TSN) and time sensitive bus (AUTBUS) technology in the new power system.

Under the goal of “dual carbon”, distributed power supply has exploded in growth, and regional power grids with high penetration rate have emerged in large numbers. “Small, micro, multiple and scattered” has become the main characteristics of the source, network, load and storage end of the future power system. Limited by construction and operation and maintenance costs, the traditional communication architecture of hierarchical network and high redundancy transmission is difficult to continue to be used in distributed control. It is urgent to introduce advanced communication technology such as time-sensitive network to solve the problem of delay deterministic guarantee for multi-service common-network transmission with different communication needs.

State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute Co., Ltd. is a scientific research unit directly under the State Grid Corporation. It undertook the first TSN technology project of State Grid Corporation, and has mastered the mechanism, technical characteristics, implementation principles and methods of time-sensitive network technology. Beijing Dongtu Technology Co., Ltd. released the first self-designed TSN network switching chip in China to provide full-stack application solutions for industrial Internet. The two parties rely on their respective technical reserves in the field of TSN, the combination of strengths, and the complementary advantages of resources, to promote the time sensitive network switching device in the power industry from the theoretical research, function and protocol experimental verification stage, to the engineering application and promotion of highly reliable and accurate control of typical power business scenarios.
